This past month has been an amazing journey for the Bainbridge High School music students. I caught wind of the jazz band from a dear friend whose son is in the ensemble. He dared me to come get my Friday night music groove on with the BHS students.
To say I was blown away is an understatement. These kids were amazing! You saw the pride and joy they felt being part of something so special. The Band Director, Mr. T (Chris Thomas), was in his element. The event was like a fine-tuned production you would see from professionals.
Adults and teens were dancing, and there were smiles all around the packed auditorium.
This past month, they took their show on the road to win several awards at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest: Three first place awards, and several second and third place prizes as well.
These are some of the aspects that make Bainbridge High School one of the premier public schools in the state yearly. If you get a chance to hear them, do yourself a favor, mark the performance on the calendar, and go!
P.S. Take your moment to be a proud dad, Eddie Weiland. Your boy did amazing! Congratulations, Thomas Weiland, and the whole crew.
