When the virus upended the softball season for Bainbridge High School’s Varsity Softball coach Haylee Baker, she as well as her players were devastated. Spring and softball are a ritual as old as time. Just as COVID has turned so many beautiful rituals and things we love upside down, the unexpected time in her spring schedule proved to hold other unforeseen opportunities!
About two weeks into “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” time, Haylee and her significant other, Nick, called me to go see a property. We masked up, grabbed the sanitizing supplies, and ventured out.
Haylee and Nick were looking for their next investment property, one they could put their own stamp on. This young couple loves a remodeling project and had been watching the market closely for that kind of opportunity.
While things were still unfolding in the “what to expect during COVID” phase, we did not know just what kind of traffic and interest there would be. True to the trend here in Kitsap County, there was still a high level of competition and interest immediately, so we toured knowing we would need to make our decision quickly.
We walked the house, and every room and space was exactly what they had envisioned for their next home.
Then, it happened, we entered the family room of the home, or more like the man cave of the person who lived there, and in the corner, standing on end, was the largest Corona Bar mirror you can imagine. We chuckled initially, stating, “You just can’t make this stuff up.” Haylee and Nick said, “This is our “sign”, if the sellers will leave the mirror, we want to make an offer.”
Today, I get to hand them the keys to their own Corona Bar and look forward to the invite for that first beer in the Hawk’s Den when Nick gets it all finished!
Take that, Coronavirus!
Mo & Minski can’t wait to see how you incorporate that priceless piece of artwork into your new home. We know it will surely be a great story for years to come!
