Erika Wales is a familiar face to many on Bainbridge Island. A longtime letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, Erika perennially works overtime serving the residents and businesses of Winslow. She is a Bainbridge resident and the mother of two almost-grown daughters.
I can attest from experience that Erika is a perfectionist. When Erika's on the route, your box won't get filled with mail for your neighbors or a previous resident. A fixture in our community, Erika always has time for a friendly hello or quick chat, despite a physically depleting job. When Erika rang my doorbell for a package delivery today (Halloween), I was delighted to find her in costume. Erika's good cheer is one more reason why I love this island.
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Erika exemplifies the USPS creed, and we're lucky to have her.
