This “Welcome Home” hits close to home. Literally. I live three doors down. Obviously I'm biased, but I strongly believe that the Olympian condos are one of the best-kept secrets in the Winslow area. Why? The thirty-ish unit condominium was built in the '70s, designed to last, and last it has. Besides great construction, the individual unit design is hard to find in the latest new builds. Simply put, it's rare to see condos as spacious as these. I was lucky to discover this for myself in 2016, but this isn't my “Welcome Home” story.
All Mo-Minski home-buying adventures begin with a list of “must-haves.” For this particular client, “must haves” were short and sweet: walk to ferry and one to two bedrooms. When a one bedroom top floor unit came up in my building, I knew exactly what to do. I forgot to mention that while the Olympian condos are well-built, well-designed, and HUGE, many are in their original 70's condition. Mine certainly was when I bought it, but oh the potential! If I could just help my client see what I saw ...
I had a plan (I like plans). Before I showed the unit for sale, I brought my client home with me. It too was in its original '70s condition. I walked him through my vision room-by-room. Take out that, put in that, and voilà! You have the coolest condo in Winslow! Then, we headed to the unit for sale, and he saw it. He could see its potential; what it was and what it could be. Once we were under contract, he interviewed several designers and fell in love with my dear, talented friend Christine Werlin. From there, they did the rest. Once we closed, they went straight to work, and what they created is truly one of a kind. It was a joy to be a part of sharing a vision, connecting people with the right people, and watching them create something special.
